Introduction: Our Commitment to Privacy
Coclaw values your privacy and the protection of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information, as well as how you can manage your personal information and system permissions.
Please read and fully understand this policy before using Coclaw. By downloading, launching, registering, logging in, or using Coclaw, you acknowledge and agree to the information processing rules described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please stop using our services.
Chapter 1: Information We Collect and Why
To provide, maintain, and improve Coclaw's services, and to ensure the security of your account and services, we process the following information based on the principles of legality, legitimacy, and necessity.

- Account and Login Information: When you register, log in, or manage your account, we may process your account identifier, email address, third-party login identifiers, verification code status, profile picture, nickname, membership status, subscription status, and points or credit information.
- User Input and Uploaded Content: When using features such as AI chat, writing, translation, summarization, generation, search, file processing, and project management, we may process text, prompts, chat history, images, videos, audio, documents, PDFs, PPTs, screenshots, or other files that you voluntarily input, upload, or save.
- Real-time Recording and Translation Content: When using features such as AI real-time calls, AI real-time recording, meeting minutes, class notes, simultaneous interpretation, face-to-face translation, voice input, and audio transcription, we may process the relevant voice data, transcribed text, translated text, summaries, minutes, and task status.
- AI Generation and Work Product Information: We may save or display the text, images, videos, summaries, transcripts, translations, meeting minutes, class notes, search results, and work records generated by you through Coclaw.
1.2 Information Automatically Generated When Using Services
- Device and Network Information: To ensure service stability and account security, we may process device model, operating system version, application version, language settings, network status, IP address, request time, and service response status.
- Logs and Diagnostic Information: We may process crash logs, error logs, performance logs, and feature usage records to troubleshoot issues, optimize the user experience, and prevent fraud, attacks, abuse, or illegal activities.
- Content Metadata: For content you upload or generate, we may process file names, file types, sizes, duration, creation time, upload time, generation models, task types, and processing status.
1.3 Payment and Subscription Information
When you purchase memberships, subscriptions, points, or other paid benefits, we may receive order status, product type, transaction identifiers, subscription validity, and refund or cancellation status from the app store or payment service providers. Complete payment credentials, bank card numbers, and payment passwords are generally handled by the app store or payment service providers; we do not actively collect your full bank card number or payment password.
Chapter 2: Device Permissions
Coclaw currently requests permissions for photos, camera, microphone, speech recognition, and iOS screen sharing as required by specific features. We only access these permissions after you have voluntarily used the relevant feature and granted system authorization. You can revoke this authorization at any time in your system settings, though this may prevent certain features from functioning properly.
2.1 Microphone and Speech Recognition
- Usage Scenarios: AI real-time calls, AI real-time recording, meeting minutes, class notes, simultaneous interpretation, face-to-face translation, voice input, audio transcription, and audio summarization.
- Purpose: Converting voice to text, performing translations, generating summaries, creating meeting minutes or class notes, saving work products, troubleshooting, and ensuring service security.
- Note: Coclaw will not record your voice in the background without your authorization and without you actively initiating the relevant features.
2.2 Camera, Photos, and Media Files
- Camera Permission: Used for features initiated by you, such as taking photos or videos, face-to-face translation, image recognition, and image/video uploads.
- Photo Permission: Used to select, upload, or save images and videos, such as uploading files or saving AI-generated images/videos.
- Scope: We only process content that you voluntarily select, upload, capture, or save; we do not actively scan your entire photo library.
2.3 iOS Screen Sharing and Screen Recording
- Usage Scenarios: AI real-time recording, meeting minutes, class notes, system audio recording, screen content assisted recognition, screen content transcription, and presentation summary.
- Content Processed: Text, images, videos, application interfaces, web pages, meeting screens, presentations, system audio, or other visible content on your screen, depending on the scope you choose to share or record and your system permission settings.
- Note: Coclaw only processes such content after you have voluntarily enabled iOS screen sharing and granted system authorization; we do not record the screen in the background without such authorization.
2.4 Permissions We Do Not Request
Coclaw does not request access to contacts, location, or calendar. We also do not actively collect highly sensitive information unrelated to our services, such as SMS, call logs, or health data.
Chapter 3: How We Use Information

Chapter 4: Data Sharing, Processing Entrustment, and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. To fulfill Coclaw's functions and necessary services, we may share or entrust the processing of information within the minimal necessary scope to the following types of service providers:
4.1 Third-Party AI Service Providers
To provide you with our advanced AI chat, writing, image generation, and video generation features, we share or entrust the processing of your voluntary inputs (such as text prompts, uploaded reference images, or video clips) to third-party AI service providers.
We share only the minimum data necessary to process your specific generation requests. We ensure these providers offer equivalent privacy and data protections, and they are contractually prohibited from using your uploaded or input data to train their models without your explicit consent.
Depending on the specific features you interact with, your data may be processed by the following providers:

We require such service providers to process information in accordance with this policy, contractual obligations, and applicable laws and regulations, and to implement necessary security protection measures.
Chapter 5: Your Rights and Controls
- Access and Correction: You may access, correct, or supplement your account information and certain personal data within the capabilities supported by the product.
- Deletion: You may delete certain content that you have voluntarily created, uploaded, saved, or generated.
- Withdrawal of Consent: You may withdraw permissions for microphone, speech recognition, camera, photos, screen sharing, etc., via your system settings.

- Benefit Management: You may manage subscriptions, memberships, points, or paid benefits according to the rules in the App and the app store.
After closing or withdrawing certain permissions, functions relying on those permissions may not work properly. For example, disabling the microphone or speech recognition may prevent AI real-time calls, voice recording, voice input, or simultaneous interpretation; disabling photo or camera permissions may prevent image/video selection, uploading, saving, or capturing; disabling screen sharing may prevent screen or system audio recording.
Chapter 6: Data Security and Retention Period
6.1 Security Measures
We implement reasonable technical and managerial measures to protect your information, including access control, encrypted transmission, permission management, security auditing, log monitoring, and anomaly detection.
6.2 Retention Method and Period
We retain your information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Work products, history, transcripts, translations, generated content, and uploaded files created or saved in Coclaw may be stored on servers or local devices based on your account status, product settings, storage rules, and membership benefits. If you choose to save or upload real-time records, meeting minutes, class notes, or image/video generation results, they will be stored as work products or history.
Privacy Mode: Sessions in Privacy Mode are not saved as history, per product instructions. Coclaw may cache necessary data on your local device to improve loading speeds, save settings (such as language, theme, and privacy mode), or ensure functional continuity. Security information such as login credentials and tokens may be stored using system-level secure storage capabilities.

If a guardian discovers that a minor has provided personal information to Coclaw without consent, please contact us using the methods provided in this policy.
Chapter 8: Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies
Coclaw may use local caching, system secure storage, or similar technologies to save login status, language, theme, privacy mode, device configuration, and necessary functional caches to improve user experience and ensure service continuity. You may manage some local data through system settings or features provided within the App.
